Social Media & Content Creator - Intern NYC (Remote)
Job Description:
Company: ZOVU Location: 100% remote Type: Internship, (3 months), with the possibility of a paid role after Hours: Minimum 32 hrs/week Start: As soon as you can
About ZOVU
ZOVU is an all-in-one operating system for restaurants: point of sale, reservations, staff planning, loyalty and back-office data in one platform. We charge no monthly subscription, we earn a small margin per transaction, so we only make money when our restaurants do.
We're building in the Netherlands, the UK and the US. Alongside the restaurant platform we're launching a consumer app: restaurant discovery, events, experiences, a food feed with a reels section, and in-app ordering. Launch markets are Los Angeles and the Netherlands.
We are pre-launch. Zero restaurants live, zero followers, nothing to inherit. That's the job.
The role
You own social media for two brands:
ZOVU (B2B) — speaking to restaurant owners and managers. LinkedIn and Instagram. Product demos, founder content, the "why we don't charge a monthly fee" story, industry commentary.
The consumer app — speaking to people who eat out. Instagram and TikTok. Reels, food content, trends, and building the audience that will make the food feed worth opening on day one.
You will not just be scheduling posts. You decide what we make, you make it, you post it, and you tell us what worked.
What you'll actually do
- Plan and run the content calendar for both brands
- Shoot and edit video, Reels, TikToks, Shorts
- Design graphics, carousels, story templates and a visual identity that holds up across both brands
- Turn product screens and features into content people actually watch
- Build and film founder-led / behind-the-scenes content as we go from zero to launch
- Grow and reply to the community, comments, DMs, the boring part that matters
- Support influencer outreach in LA and the Netherlands for the food feed
- Prepare for on-location restaurant shoots once venues go live
- Report on what's working, monthly, in plain numbers
Note on filming: we don't have live restaurants yet, so early work is product-led, founder-led, self-shot and trend-driven content. Restaurant shoots start when venues do.
What we're looking for
Required
- A portfolio or set of accounts you've actually made content for. This matters more to us than your CV.
- You can edit video yourself, CapCut, Premiere, After Effects, whatever you're fast in
- You can design, Canva, Figma, Adobe, again whatever you're fast in
- You can shoot on a phone and make it look intentional
- You know what's currently working on Instagram and TikTok, because you're on them
- Fluent written English
- Your own laptop, phone and internet
- Self-directed. Remote and async means nobody is checking in on you hourly.
Nice to have
- Dutch as well as English
- Motion graphics
- Any hospitality experience — you've worked a floor, a bar, a kitchen
- Experience working with influencers or creators
- Photography
The terms, honestly
- This is an 3-month internship. We're pre-revenue and we'd rather say that plainly than dress it up.
- Fully remote, work when you want, minimum 32 hrs/week.
- If it works out, there's a paid role at the end of it. We're not promising it, but it's the point of doing this.
- You keep everything you make in your own portfolio.
What you get out of it
You build two brands from absolutely nothing and get to point at the result. Full creative ownership, no committee, no five layers of approval. Direct work with the founder. And if we get this right, you were the first person on it.
How to apply
Send your portfolio or content accounts plus a short note on why you want this to [email protected].
Skip the cover letter. Instead, tell us one thing you'd post in our first week and why.
